Jan Davis has been described as Tasmania's top political lobbyist and one of the most influential people in the state. Well known for her
ability to express key points of an argument clearly, Jan is adept at responding on message in both mainstream and social media
environments.
Jan was recently appointed as the CEO of RSPCA Tasmania. In the past, she has held leadership roles in a number of industry groups in the agriculture sector, including Protected Cropping Australia Ltd, Agribusiness Association of Australia, Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, Growcom (Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers), Greening Australia, the Australian Mushroom Growers Association, and the Nursery and Garden Industry Association of Australia. Jan also served as CEO of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce and of Local Government Professionals (Tasmania) Inc.
Jan is an experienced non-executive director, with current roles including Australian Shellfish Industries Pty Ltd, Landcare Australia Limited, Fermentation Tasmania Ltd and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Tasmania). She is also an elected member of the Northern Midlands Council in Tasmania.
Jan has Master’s degrees in both Agribusiness and Environmental Planning; a Bachelors degree in Economics; and Graduate Diplomas in Education and Environmental Studies. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and a Fellow of the Australian Society of Association Executives.
