Our history

Founded in 2010 by Nick Koerbin, AES is a commercial consultancy and advisory firm specialising in comprehensive management services for the not-for-profit (NFP) sector. Nick brings more than 30 years of experience to AES including senior roles as a CEO and Board Director across a wide range of NFP organisations and industries. That depth his practitioner experience — having sat in the CEO's chair and around the Board table — shapes how AES works with clients: from the inside out, with a clear understanding of the pressures, decisions, and trade-offs association and NFP leaders face every day.

We support membership-based associations and other NFP organisations by helping them achieve sustainable growth and long-term financial stability. What distinguishes AES from other similar organisations is the calibre of our consulting team. Nick has built one of the most skilled and experienced groups of association and NFP professionals in the sector — each member bringing deep expertise gained from years of senior work inside the NFP environment, not from observing it at a distance.

AES plays a key role in the evolving association and NFP landscape by providing all the resources and management support that associations, societies, and not-for-profit organisations need.
