The Position
The Board of the Australian Physiotherapy Association is seeking to appoint a highly contemporary and innovative Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to continue to build on its strategic, operational and membership success. The incoming CEO will represent and support more than 32,000 members and lead the organisation as an active and respected voice on national health policy.
Reporting to the Board, and supported by an executive team, the CEO will support the design and implementation of the strategic plan to advance the organisation’s vision, belief and purpose, building on its excellent reputation and position at the forefront of the profession. The CEO will oversee high quality membership offerings, financial stewardship, sustained growth and effective resource management. Importantly the CEO will facilitate enhanced community recognition of physiotherapy through oversight of national advocacy and consumer-focused campaigns, as well as progressive, contemporary and cost-effective professional development for its members.
You will offer a dynamic and strategic leadership presence to take the organisation to the next exciting stage of growth. As the national representative for the organisation, you will be an exceptional communicator, skilled in management of stakeholder alliances and be comfortable engaging at the most senior levels. Ideally you will bring CEO or senior executive experience in member services or related sector and present with a strong affinity with the Physiotherapy profession and for improving health outcomes for all. A track record leading and developing a high performing team coupled with commercial acumen that provides the highest level of corporate governance and sound and innovative advice to the Board is desired. Appropriate tertiary qualifications are required.
The Organisation
The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is the peak body representing the interests of physiotherapists and their clients. It does so by advocating for access to quality physiotherapy services, providing leadership in the wider health landscape, creating lifelong information and learning opportunities for members, and promoting the value of physiotherapy to the community.
The APA is a national organisation with state and territory branches and specialty subgroups committed to implementing the highest standards of corporate governance.
