About CF Together
CF Together exists for one powerful purpose: until everyone with cystic fibrosis lives a full life, lived to the full. As a national organisation grounded in community, evidence-informed advocacy and collaborative care, CF Together brings people, partners and policy together to drive meaningful change. We work to ensure all Australians living with CF — regardless of age, background, or geography — can access the care, support and connection they need to thrive.
Our 2024–2027 Strategic Plan sets out an ambitious agenda to improve lives and shift systems. Anchored in five pillars — Community, Care, Voice, Research, and Transformation — we are co-creating inclusive services, advocating for policy reform, funding new research into cures and treatments, and building a future-ready organisation. With an active and engaged national community, influential clinical and research partners, and a strong commitment to equity, we are poised for significant and sustained impact.
About the role
Reporting to the professional Board, the CEO will lead CF Together through its next chapter of strategic delivery and sector influence. This includes overseeing the implementation of our strategic plan, strengthening national partnerships, driving innovation in programs and service delivery, and ensuring sustainable growth through strong financial and stakeholder stewardship. The CEO will be a visible ambassador for CF Together — representing the voice of our community, influencing decision-makers, and fostering deep trust and collaboration with supporters, clinicians, researchers, and families.
About the person
We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative and purpose-driven leader who brings proven executive leadership experience within a complex stakeholder environment. You will be a natural relationship builder with the ability to engage across community, government, healthcare, philanthropy and research sectors. You will bring strong strategic thinking, financial and organisational acumen, and a deep appreciation of co-design, inclusion and equity. Experience in the health, not-for-profit, or community sector will be highly regarded, as will a commitment to leading with authenticity and impact.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a bold, values-led organisation that is changing futures for people living with cystic fibrosis across Australia.
Hazel Executive & Boards is pleased to be partnering with the CF Together Board on this search and appointment process. All direct and third-party applications will be forwarded to Hazel.

We’re seeing a growing trend. More and more groups are reaching out to start new associations.
In most cases, the reason is the same: "Our current association isn’t delivering."
That may well be true. Starting a new association is a serious commitment, not just a reaction. Let me be clear:
One of the most common — and often unexpected — challenges faced by association boards and leaders arises when a member develops a grievance against the organisation. In the association sector, this is not unusual. Most grievances begin with a concern or disagreement, but if not handled appropriately, they can escalate into a prolonged and disruptive issue.
Insights from the AES Technology Survey and Special Interest Group Discussion
Artificial Intelligence is now part of daily work for many association professionals.
Association Executive Services (AES) are soon to release its
annual report on technology in Australian Associations and recently facilitated a special interest group discussion on the use of AI in
participants' organisations.
How we help membership based, not-for-profit associations now and into the future.
