About the Organisation
The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) is the peak national body representing Australian farmers and agriculture. For more than four
decades, the NFF has been at the forefront of national policy, advocacy, and reform – championing initiatives that drive the growth and
sustainability of Australian agriculture. With a bold ambition for the sector to become Australia’s next $100 billion industry, the NFF
plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of farming and influencing national conversations that intersect with environmental, economic,
and social policy.
About the Role
Reporting to the President and the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will lead a geographically dispersed team and serve as a unifying
force across one of Australia’s most critical industries. This is a career-defining opportunity to influence national decision-making, drive
transformative policy outcomes, and represent Australian agriculture on the domestic and global stage. The CEO will lead strategic advocacy
with government and industry, foster collaboration across member bodies and stakeholders, and ensure the NFF continues to be the respected
and influential voice advancing the interests of farmers and rural communities nationwide. Success in this role will demand a leader who can
balance strategic vision with pragmatic execution, while building enduring relationships that turn insight into impact.
About You
You are an accomplished and authentic leader with a deep understanding of agriculture’s role in Australia’s economic, environmental, and
social fabric. Your experience leading complex organisations through change is complemented by your ability to engage and influence at the

It’s the Gala Awards night – but are your awards truly valued by most of your members?
Most association leaders face a persistent challenge: growing and retaining members. It’s not uncommon to hear stories of
members who join for a year, drop off, and then rejoin two years later. While this cycle may seem harmless, it carries hidden costs—such
as staff time, marketing expenses, onboarding resources, and software overhead—that
can quietly drain your association’s budget.
