Manager - Member Engagement, Marketing & Events - NECA

ABOUT THE COMPANY
NECA is an Industrial Association representing the interests of the electrical and communications contracting industry across Australia, for over a century. As a thriving not-for-profit business and association, we pride ourselves in providing excellent service, guidance and advice to our members to help them build stronger businesses and to represent their interests.

Being the peak industry body within Australia, we also provide support, education, training, legal advice, and the supply of tools, clothing & equipment through our secondary businesses to meet the needs of our members.

Primarily, our goal is to lift the standards of the Electrotechnology Industry and provide a voice and fight for the rights and interests of our members, while delivering critical information to ensure that our members remain in front of changes that may affect the Industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Executive Director – Tasmania, this is a broad and important operational role responsible for strengthening how NECA supports, communicates with and engages its members, partners and the broader electrical and communications industry across Tasmania.

While member services are an important part of the position, the role has a strong marketing, communications and events focus. We are looking for a capable all-rounder who can build relationships, communicate well, organise and deliver, and take ownership of priorities from idea through to completion. In doing so, you'll build local capability in Tasmania and enable the Executive Director to focus on advocacy, government relations, governance and growth.

Based in Hobart, Tasmania, this is a full-time, ongoing position (38 hours per week) and is primarily an internal, office-based role. It can be performed from home, from a desk at our Tasmanian training centre, or a mix of both.

Some travel may be expected when events are held outside the local area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing & communications: develop and deliver an annual communications and content plan; produce EDMs, newsletters and campaigns; manage social media and day-to-day channels; maintain consistent, professional NECA branding.
  • Events: plan, promote and deliver NECA Tasmania's events program, including industry nights, awards, business breakfasts, forums and networking events; manage logistics, sponsors and event-day coordination.
  • Member services & engagement: act as a key local point of contact; coordinate onboarding, renewals and retention; maintain accurate CRM records; identify and re-engage at-risk members.
  • Sponsorship & partnerships: service sponsors and partners, coordinate agreed activations, and assist with proposals, renewals and new opportunities.
  • Strategic projects & executive support: turn organisational priorities into practical plans and deliverables, and provide research, reporting and project support to the Executive Director.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
As a key face of NECA in Tasmania, the successful applicant will bring energy, enthusiasm and contemporary, innovative ideas to member engagement, marketing and events.

We're after someone who enjoys working for a not-for-profit, isn't tied to a full-time office environment and enjoys communicating with stakeholders to spread the message of NECA to a wider audience.

You'll understand marketing and be willing to contribute to our social presence and branding, while being organised, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership and getting things done.
