Looking for a work-from-home, organiser extraordinaire who loves being trusted to do their job without constant supervision. The role is part-time, 10 to 20 hours per week spread across four or five days. There may also be an opportunity to increase the role to 30 hours per week if you have project management or business development experience.
Waste Recycling Industry Queensland represents around 100 organisations that do 97% of Queensland’s waste collections, own and operate $3.8B in essential waste recycling infrastructure and directly and indirectly employ around 16,000 Queenslanders. From large multinationals to small family-owned businesses, traditional collections companies to innovative recycling and remanufacturing operations our members are providing essential health and hygiene services to more than 2.1 million Queensland households and businesses every week.
You will be located in southeast Queensland so you can attend occasional site visits and monthly member events but otherwise your role is almost entirely work from home. We will negotiate flexible working hours with the right candidate which might include one hour early morning or in the evening and one hour around lunchtime to fit around another role.
You have excellent written and phone communication skills. You love organising events, networking and learning about different businesses. You're organised and good at following and developing systems. You have outstanding attention to detail and you’re flexible in your approach. You are intelligent with very good time management skills, with the ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and address obstacles to deliver solutions and outcomes. You're capable of using a computer, and working in a Google environment. You are efficient and always meet deadlines. Ideally you have some waste recycling industry, Registered Training Organisation or membership association experience but this is not essential.
As Membership & Administration Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
With the right experience, your job could also include representing members at government and industry forums, drafting policy and position statements, managing social media, growing our training organisation or developing stronger relationships with members. If you are studying business or a related field, there may be an opportunity to undertake additional real-life projects in your field of study.
We are a small team and your role will report directly to the CEO. This role does not generally require regional or interstate travel.
Please apply via the Seek portal only. Please do not phone our office or send emails. All applicants will receive a response and those we invite to interviews will have the opportunity to ask additional questions prior to attending the interview. Please ensure you include a brief cover letter outlining how many hours work per week you are looking for, your availability and why you are a good fit for the role.
Most boards don't have a minutes problem until they need them. Then they find twelve pages of who said what, or three lines that record nothing at all.
Risk management is one of those areas that every association and not-for-profit Board knows is important - but it can sometimes become
little more than a risk register reviewed once or twice a year.
Insurance can be treated in much the same way.
The organisation receives its annual insurance renewal, the premium is approved, the policy is renewed and everyone assumes the organisation
is covered.
How we help membership based, not-for-profit associations now and into the future.
