The Australian Medical Association (NSW) is the leading professional association representing medical practitioners across New South Wales.

As a not-for-profit membership organisation, we advocate for the medical profession and support our members through workplace relations advice, professional services, education, advocacy and member benefits.

Based in St Leonards, our office is conveniently located within walking distance of both St Leonards Train Station and the Metro.

About the Role

The Membership and Growth Manager will lead AMA (NSW)’s membership team to drive membership growth, member engagement, retention and customer service excellence.

As a pivotal member of the Leadership Team, the Membership and Growth Manager will work closely with the CEO, Leadership Team and colleagues across the organisation. This is a high impact, broad and hands-on role with the opportunity to directly contribute to the ongoing success of AMA NSW.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the membership strategy to strengthen engagement, retention and growth while ensuring members receive a consistent, high-value experience.
  
• Proactively drive membership growth to meet AMA NSW targets.
  
• Track performance against growth, retention and member satisfaction targets, using insights to improve results.
  
• Lead and develop a high performing membership team fostering a culture of customer service and high performance through coaching, training and feedback
  
• Oversee membership operations, reporting and data quality to support informed decisions and a seamless member experience.
  
• Identify opportunities for growth in membership, partnerships and sponsorships
  
• Build trusted relationships with members, stakeholders and partners, representing AMA NSW
  

About You

• Driven, self-motivated and results focused with a demonstrated track record of meeting growth targets
  
• A strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities
  
• Enjoy engaging with people and building strong relationships within and outside the organisation
  
• Strong people leadership skills and a track record of leading a team to deliver high-quality customer service
  
• Understanding of membership organisations and the drivers of attraction, retention and engagement
  
• Confident building relationships and proactively following up opportunities
  

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  
• Business development and/or membership growth experience ideally in a membership or subscription-based organisation
  
• Proven ability to design and implement strategy and drive growth
  
• Experience leading a high performing team
  
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and relationship building skills
  
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert strategy into action
  
• Experience with CRM’s and membership and/or subscription models
  
• Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  
• Professional presentation and the ability to be a good ambassador for AMA NSW
